In 2022 (壬寅年 — Water Tiger), the annual center star is Star 5 (Yellow Misfortune Star, 五黃廉貞). The dominant theme this year is disaster, serious illness, accidents. Key caution: the Five Yellow falls in the C — apply metal cures immediately. Tai Sui resides in the NE; avoid disturbing this sector with renovations. Annual Afflictions
These four afflictions govern the full solar year (4 Feb 2022 – 3 Feb 2023).
Tai Sui (太歲, Grand Duke Jupiter) resides in the NE in 2022 at 52.5°–67.5°. This is a sector of cosmic authority — show respect by not disturbing it.
✦ Remedy: Place a Tai Sui plaque (太歲符) or a pair of Pi Xiu (貔貅) facing the Tai Sui direction. Sit or work facing Tai Sui (do not have it behind you).
✗ Avoid: Major renovations, drilling, or digging in the NE sector. Avoid loud, disruptive activity here throughout 2022.
Sui Po (歲破, Year Breaker) directly opposes Tai Sui in the SW in 2022. It carries unstable, broken energy that can cause setbacks and loss.
✦ Remedy: Keep this sector quiet and undisturbed. Avoid major activity or placing important functions here.
✗ Avoid: Renovations, drilling, or digging in the SW throughout 2022.
Three Killings (三煞, Sān Shā) afflict the North group — NW, N, NE — in 2022. It brings risk of loss, injury, and lawsuits if disturbed.
✦ Remedy: Face into the Three Killings — never sit with your back to this group. Place three Chi Lin (麒麟), Pi Xiu, or three-legged toads in the affected sectors.
✗ Avoid: Renovations, digging, or major disturbance in the NW, N, NE sectors. Never position yourself with the North at your back.
Five Yellow (五黃, Wu Huang) lands in the C in 2022. This is the most dangerous annual affliction — serious illness, accidents, and major misfortune follow disturbance.
✦ Remedy: Install a 6-rod hollow metal windchime immediately. Add a brass salt-water cure for extra protection. If the main door or master bedroom falls here, place metal cures at the entrance and inside.
✗ Avoid: All fire energy, candles, red or orange décor in the C. Absolutely no renovations, drilling, hammering, or digging. Check quarterly and replace salt-water cure as needed.

Star 8 (八白左輔) is the reigning prosperity star of Period 8 (2004–2023) and still carries strong positive wealth energy well into Period 9. It brings financial gain, good fortune, and auspicious opportunities.
✦ EnhanceBright lighting, earth-tone crystals, amethyst geodes, water feature on the auspicious side, or a wealth bowl. Place important rooms or the main door here where possible.

Star 1 (一白貪狼) is the career and romance star. It brings opportunities for advancement, intellectual clarity, and relationship luck. An active sector here benefits networking and study.
✦ EnhanceWater features (aquarium, water bowl), blue or black décor, metal objects. Excellent sector for a study, home office, or master bedroom.
✓ ActionGenerally auspicious — keep active and well-lit. No suppression needed.

Star 6 (六白武曲) brings authority, mentor luck, and helpful benefactors (貴人). It is excellent for career progression, legal matters, and gaining recognition from people in positions of power.

Star 4 (四綠文曲) enhances romance, academic performance, creativity, and travel luck. It is especially favourable for students, writers, artists, and those seeking relationships.
