What Is Direct Wealth (正财) in BaZi?

Direct Wealth (正财, abbreviated DW in Yixin Academy's system) is the element that your Day Master controls, in the same polarity. "Control" here means the Day Master can structure, direct, and benefit from this element — it is wealth that comes from earned effort and disciplined management. DW represents money that is within your grasp through regular work.

What Does DW Indicate in a BaZi Chart?

DW in a BaZi chart represents stable, earned income, financial responsibility, and a disciplined relationship with money. DW people tend to be good money managers who know the value of what they earn. They are typically conventional in their financial approach — salaries, savings, property — rather than speculative.

Traditionally, DW also represents the spouse or significant partner for men in BaZi analysis (the element a man "controls" in the relationship dynamic). A strong, well-placed DW can indicate a stable and supportive partner relationship.

DW in the Chart Context

A chart heavy in DW suggests financial opportunity — but only if the Day Master is strong enough to control it.
