Module 2 — The 64 Hexagrams & Divination Method

• Survey of all 64 hexagrams — their names, core meanings, and symbolic character
• Casting hexagrams: the three-coin method and the traditional yarrow stalk method
• Changing lines — what they are, how they transform the primary hexagram
• The relating hexagram: reading the outcome or deeper context of a situation

Module 3 — Practical Consultation

• Formulating clear, answerable questions for Yi Jing consultation
• Structuring a reading: primary hexagram, changing lines, relating hexagram
• Applying hexagram meanings to real-life questions — career, relationships, decisions
• Live practice readings with guided feedback from Master Yi Xin

How is Yi Jing different from tarot?

Yi Jing is a classical Chinese text with a precise binary logic — yin and yang lines building into hexagrams — while tarot is a Western card-based system with symbolic imagery. Yi Jing readings are analytical and contextual: you interpret the structure of a hexagram in relation to a specific question, with ancient textual commentary as your guide. The approach is systematic rather than intuitive.

Can anyone learn Yi Jing?

Yes. No prior knowledge of Chinese philosophy is required. Master Yi Xin teaches the system in Mandarin, building understanding from first principles. The trigram and hexagram logic is learnable by anyone willing to engage with it seriously — and the course is structured so that each concept leads naturally to the next. Working Mandarin is needed to follow the instruction.

How long does it take to learn Yi Jing?

The course covers the essential foundation in a 2-day intensive — enough to cast, read, and interpret hexagrams independently. Deep familiarity with all 64 hexagrams develops over months of regular practice. Many practitioners spend years with the Yi Jing and continue to find new depth in it. The course gives you the correct method so your practice grows on a solid base.

Is Yi Jing used alongside BaZi and Fengshui?

Yes — many practitioners integrate Yi Jing into their consultations. BaZi illuminates a person's character and life timing; Fengshui addresses the environment; Yi Jing addresses the specific question at hand right now. Used together, they complement each other naturally. This course can be taken independently or alongside other Yixin Academy courses.
